Frankston hockey club is always happy to welcome new players to our club whether they be from overseas, interstate, other clubs or are taking up hockey for the first time.
The Stingrays pride ourselves on being a friendly club that caters for all standards of hockey.  We have good facilities and a quality coaching set up with knowledge and experience from overseas, interstate and the top level of Victorian hockey.  We also understand how important the social side of hockey is.  We are involved in the local Frankston Community and provide an opportunity for local families to be a part of our club.

Juniors

The junior section has grown rapidly over the last season.  Much of this growth is due to the excellent FREE hockey coaching program we have run for the last few years. This has encouraged hundreds of local children to experience hockey in a safe, fun and friendly environment for the first time.  Many have then gone on to join the club. 

2011 was a successful year on the pitch.  We had 2 U9 and 2 U11 teams competing.  Our U11’s, U13’s and U15’s reached finals and the U17’s performed well in the Pennant Competition.  We offer an affordable and fun environment for juniors to play hockey.

In 2011 we ran an innovative pre season junior tournament as well as social events at a rock climbing and skating venue. Quality junior coaching is key for the future development of our club.  We were very proud to have 3 of our junior coaches selected to coach the Southern Metro regions representative teams.

Womens

Our Women’s section is going through a rebuilding phase.  We have a great group of enthusiastic young players in our State League 4 team. This team has competed well together with some experienced players over the last few years. 

We are now ready and very keen to welcome new players of all ages to strengthen our first team, enter a second team and rebuild the women’s section even more.  A good time is guaranteed.

Mens

The restructure of the Victorian leagues in 2012 will give Frankston the perfect opportunity to establish a more professional environment that enables all members to achieve their full playing potential.  Our mens first team play in State League 3 and our second team play in Pennant E. 

Players in our top 2 teams are expected to attend training.  We actively encourage our juniors to play for the senior teams and our focus is on developing our home grown talent.  Our mens thirds and fourths play competively in the metro competition.

Veterans

We run a Vets team in the C Grade competition after winning promotion last season.  This is a growth area of the club and we are planning to enter a second team.  If you are looking to start playing hockey again or have never played before we would welcome you into our club.
